Mukpuddy
I have worked for Mukpuddy studios, here in New Zealand, for a number of years - you can see a lot of the work I’ve done there in dedicated pages like ‘Night Eyes’, Shadow in the Clouds’ and of course, ‘Badjelly’.
we have grown quite a bit, since I was brought on as an animator for ‘Quimbo’s Quest’, but at the beginning, we worked on flash animated rigged shows for local television and streaming.
These rigs were very limited with usually only a front 3/4 and a reverse 3/4 view; the arms and hands were typically one drawing instead of being separated; and occasionally (due to how many rigs were needed and how we only had 2 people to make them all) some of them were given to us unfinished - this was all a necessity that reflected the budget and extremely tight turn-arounds of the projects… But that didn’t stop me from getting weird and whacky with it!
Below are a bunch of examples of how I redrew, or pushed the rigs for more extreme poses and exaggerated expressions.
